Harrison Park located at Hohman Ave. & Waltham St.  Feel free to congregate at the park any time during the day and picnic with your family while having fun enjoying our food vendors and music beginning at 2 pm.  The library hosts a patriotic music concert in the band shell starting 5:15 pm and at 6 pm a Naturalization Ceremony., music of the Bill Porter Orchestra, fantastic fireworks display by BaDaBoom! 10am Geocaching Jaunt. It’s the scavenger hunt with a high tech twist!  Meet at the Campground Gate and learn to use a GPS unit, what a geocache is, and find your own geocache!  Great family activity!  1pm Hoosier Quest Patch Program.  See Monday, June 30 for details.  Join us!  3pm Go Green!  No, not like Kermit the Frog!  Join us in the Nature Center for a look at what you can do to turn your life green.  We’ll look at what you can do in your own home to help save money and help the environment.  Join us!  8:30pm Fireworks from Mt. Tom!  Friday may have been the big night, but there are still fireworks to be seen!  Meet us at the Campground Shelter (by site 116) for a moderate hike to Mt. Tom, from where we’ll have a good vantage point for any fireworks being set off along the Lake Michigan shoreline.  We’ll make our way back through the forest looking for the fireworks of the forest… fireflies!  Join us!  No pets please.  Kids under 12, bring a parent.     10am Feed the Birds! Meet the naturalist at the Nature Center and help feed the birds and squirrels in the bird feeding area!  Great chance for up-close views!  10:30am Poetic Precipitation!  If the beach is the singing sands, then meet the naturalist at the Beach Pavilion for a look at the waterways of the dunes.  We’ll explore the day to day movements of Dune’s Creek, and how it’s molded by the wind and sand.  Join us before the beach opens for swimming!  1pm Hoosier Quest Patch Program.  See Monday, June 30 for details.  Join us!  3pm Naturalist Beach Break!  Watch for the naturalist on the beach this afternoon.  What special things will he or she have!, Indiana Dunes State Park, 926-1390.
