School of Rock

 Jack Black (Orange County) plays Dewey Finn, an over-the-top guitarist who gets kicked out of his rock group weeks before the "Battle of the Bands" for being, well, too over-the-top. That's not his only problem. His roommate's girlfriend (Sarah Silverman- The Way of the Gun, Heartbreakers) wants him out of their apartment. Dewey is at the end of his rope. Until, of course, he picks up a phone call meant for his roommate, Ned Schneebly (Mike White- The Good Girl). The call is from the prestigious Horace Green Elementary School - they need Ned to be a substitute teacher. So, Dewey pretends to be Ned, takes the teaching job and comedic hijinx ensue.
After a few days of sitting and passing the time of the school day, he's suddenly energized and inspired to pull these uptight kids out of their shells. Dewey discovers the musical talents of his students and enlists them to participate in the "Battle of the Bands". So we watch the kids all serious, highly motivated private school types as Dewey teaches them about rock and rebellion and letting loose. And we watch them play the kids in this movie really do play and sing, and they
4030: re remarkably good. All I have to say that The School of Rock was worth the time. This was a pretty good movie that should appeal to just about everyone. It's a good one for the kids and a good one for fans of Jack Black.
