 July 3 and 4, Fourth Of July Celebration, Merrillville  2008— at Hidden Lake Park, 6355 Broadway. Ross Township and the Town of Merrillville host a Fourth of July Celebration featuring food vendors, live entertainment, a carnival and fireworks. Parade on July 4th starts at 53rd to 64th & Broadway (Noon) Fireworks start each night at 9 pm, 769-2111.

Music and Fireworks at TJ Middle School Parking Lot, featuring  the LaPorte County Symphony, fireworks and pyrotechnics, bring lawn chairs and blankets,  Free admission. 462-5144.  Hilltop Celebration &  New Orleans Type Parade from VU to Will Park, music, games, BB-Q, community bragger contest,  11:00am-4pm, Starts on Union St. on the V.U.
